Preparing for your stay

While most of the things you will need when you’re in the hospital are provided, you may want to consider bringing toiletries and comfortable clothes with you to help make your stay more comfortable.

Remember to bring your insurance card as well, but leave any valuables (credit cards, jewelry, large amounts of cash) at home. The hospital cannot assume responsibility for the safekeeping of these items. Also, do not bring your medications with you to the hospital. Instead, bring a list of the medications, the dosages and times you take them.

Hospital access

The main hospital doors at 925 Seneca Street are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The doors to the Emergency Services department, at the corner of Spring Street and Terry Avenue, are open 24 hours a day. You may enter the Emergency Department from Spring Street.

Discharge

When your doctor determines you’re ready to leave the hospital, he or she will confirm your discharge. You should plan to have a friend or family member help you when it’s time to leave.

Lost and found

All lost and found items are inventoried and stored by Security Services. All inquiries are addressed in the order received and as soon as a representative can investigate the inquiry.
