They treat complex medical conditions while meeting the most rigorous quality, safety, and patient experience standards to provide successful results. These programs were designed to improve patient access to world-class care across the country. Our professionally trained chaplains are available to provide emotional and spiritual support and honor what matters most to you through compassionate listening, crisis intervention, grief and bereavement resources, and patient advocacy. Chaplains provide respectful spiritual and emotional care to people of all faiths, beliefs, and values. Chaplains are available daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The chapel is located on Level 4 between Admitting and the Four Seasons Cafe. This space is set aside for quiet reflection and prayer for patients, visitors and staff of all faiths. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Bereavement Support Program has been established to assist those family members who have lost a loved one while they were a patient at Virginia Mason Medical Center. Family members who choose to participate will receive monthly correspondence, for a period of approximately one year, focusing on topics related to the grieving and healing process. Virginia Mason Medical Center provides qualified medical interpreters to all our limited-English-proficiency and hearing-impaired patients. Our video remote interpreting (VRI) machines can translate 175 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL), sign for the hearing impaired. We have connections to 75 languages and dialects via phone when you call. Our Emergency Department has two VRI machines ready to assist with patient translation needs.
Bailey-Boushay House provides compassionate, highly-professional care for people with HIV/AIDS. Many of our clients also deal with chemical dependencies, mental health issues and/or homelessness.
