Our Network

Congregational Health Ministries Network is a partnership of local congregations from many denominations within the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health service area of King, Pierce and Kitsap counties, working together to minister to the health needs of individuals in their congregations and communities. Through dedicated faith community nurses and health ministers, faith communities like yours share experiences, gain continuing education and support one another as we work to carry out our mission of wholistic health and healing throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Membership benefits

There are many benefits to joining a Network of like-minded individuals who feel called to promote health and healing within their congregations. Benefits of joining our Congregational Health Ministries Network include:

  • Being part of something larger
  • Scholarship to the Foundations of Faith Community Nursing or Health Minister Certification course (if not taken previously)
  • Ongoing consultation, support and resources from our Congregational Health Ministries Coordinator to support your health ministry
  • Networking opportunities, including our monthly Network meetings
  • Continuing education contact hours
  • Free annual membership to the Health Ministries Association
  • Free subscription to the Faith Community Nursing/Health Ministries Documentation and Reporting System (a HIPAA-compliant, secure web-based electronic documentation system)

Joining our network

Begin by contacting our Congregational Health Ministries Coordinator! We’d love to meet you, and learn more about your calling to faith community nursing and health ministry. Our Coordinator and you will explore more about your and your congregation’s readiness to commit to a health ministry, discuss the required educational requirement (Foundations of Faith Community Nursing or Health Minister Certification course) and active engagement in our Network (through monthly Network meetings, documentation of health ministry activities and other opportunities for special projects and activities).
