Hello and welcome to St. Joseph Medical Center Virginia Mason Franciscan Health!
It is both a privilege and a pleasure to be the chief resident for the 2025-2026 academic year.
I was born in the concrete jungle of Manhattan and raised in the corn fields of Iowa. I moved to Pakistan for medical school and, after that, moved to Fresno, California to complete my training in Internal Medicine. I have been to every corner of the world in the pursuit of my goals, and now I am excited to have the opportunity to help train and lead the next generation of internal medicine doctors here in Tacoma, Washington - which hopefully will include you!
Here at St. Joseph, we strive to impart on our residents our core tenants of compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence and collaboration. Our goal is to make you the best that you can be in this residency program, while also providing excellent medical care to the population of Tacoma and its surrounding areas. As our program grows, so do our aspirations, and we are on a mission to become a program that produces not only amazing clinicians, but also leaders in the community. We work hard here in Tacoma, but we also play hard. With a vibrant community full of art, breweries, museums, sports, and outdoor activities, our residents can be found embedded in all aspects of everyday life. I am excited to meet many of you on the interview trail, and hope that, if we are lucky enough to have you here, you will add to the family and community we are building in Tacoma.
