Chief Resident Welcome

Quincy Pham, MD

I am honored to serve as the St. Joseph Internal Medicine Residency's Chief Resident for 2023–2024.

A little bit about myself. I grew up not too far from St. Joseph Medical Center. I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a biochemistry degree and subsequently attended the University of Washington School of Medicine. I completed my internal medicine residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Primary care and medical education are my two areas of passion, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to return to my beloved community and take care of the people here. When I am not working, I like to spend time with my wife and my two boys. We enjoy exploring new places, dining out, and being a part of the NFL's biggest and loudest fan base.

When I look back on my residency interview process, the programs that stood out to me were those that demonstrated a sincere interest in who I am as a person, my personal story and growth, and a vision for the community they serve. I think you will find that here. Our leadership team cares about you. We want to hear your feedback and we are willing to implement changes that will optimize your experience as a resident as well as your development into a well-rounded physician. The St. Joseph internal medicine residency is also actively expanding access for the thousands of people who have difficulty finding a primary care physician.

For my chief year, I hope to foster a culture of joy in learning and practicing medicine through conference lectures and informal chalk talks. Additionally, I want to facilitate committees and projects that support the program's mission: to learn, to serve, and to make lasting impacts. Finally, I look forward to meeting all of you who are interested in joining this program and discussing why I believe the St. Joseph Internal Medicine Residency is the right home for you.
