Students and Faculty Online Orientation Requirements

Step 1

School Registers at www.cpnw.org -> Get Started -> Schools for those new to Clinical Placements Northwest (CPNW). Provide access code to students and onsite faculty to register and complete onboarding as required on the CPNW website.

Step 2

Verify all onsite faculty and student documentation is fully compliant, upload to the CPNW website, and assignment made to the correct facility.

Submit the class summary sheet to [email protected] to indicate onboarding is complete and ready for review.

**ALL student and onsite faculty onboarding paperwork must be fully compliant to Virginia Mason Franciscan Health requirements and submitted a minimum of four weeks prior to start. Any paperwork received less than four weeks prior to start will result in a DELAY***

Step 3

Register for Epic Training:

  • School designated representatives - Send training registration requests to Epic Training Department ([email protected] or 253-573-7251). Please register as early as possible.
     
    • Students and Instructors must be registered for class to attend; walk-ins will NOT be permitted
    • Student Name, Email Address, Instructors Name and Email Address all MUST be provided in order to “hold spots” in training sessions. 
    • Students and Instructors DO NOT need to have their AD accounts created prior to attending Epic training.
    • PLEASE NOTE - Students should only register for classes that take place within 60 days of their rotation start date.
    • PLEASE NOTE - Students/Instructors who have used Epic during a rotation within Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in the previous twelve (12) months and have already completed the appropriate Epic training, no further training will be required. If it has been more than 12 months, they will be required to attend the Epic training.
  • Students and Instructors - Upon elearn completion, students are required to complete, sign and return an attestation to [email protected]

Step 4

Badges and temporary parking permits
Prior to the first clinical shift all students and onsite faculty must obtain badges and parking permits. Badges cannot be issued until school has received confirmation of clearance. Please do not send anyone for a badge or submit student photos until final clearance confirmation has been received. It is recommended that clear headshots be sent to Security in jpg format after clearance email has been received. Appointments must be made for badging/temporary parking permits. Print and complete Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Vehicle Registration Form and bring to the appropriate Security/HR to receive a temporary parking pass. Permits cannot be issued without the license plate number listed on the form.

*Note: Placements at St. Joseph Medical Center can park in Medical Office building garage off Martin Luther King Jr. Way, 5th Floor or above without permit.
