Highlights of our program include: 

• Real-time imaging studies: We’re one of the few programs in the Puget Sound region offering video urodynamic studies. This advanced assessment captures real-time moving images of your bladder and nearby structures. It enhances diagnostic accuracy, enabling us to pinpoint what’s causing your symptoms with a high degree of confidence.

• National recognition: Urodynamic testing is part of a comprehensive evaluation for urinary incontinence. We use the latest evidence-based methods and hold ourselves to the highest standards. These efforts have earned some locations Center of Excellence designation from the National Association for Continence (NAFC).

• Quick results: Urodynamic study results are typically available shortly after testing is complete. Your provider receives them through our secure electronic medical record system. This seamless flow of information helps us plan the next steps of your care so you receive prompt treatment.

• Additional testing: We may need to perform other tests to assess factors contributing to your symptoms. You have access to every available option, including dynamic MRI and in-office cystoscopy. A urodynamic study evaluates whether the bladder and nearby structures are working as they should. It enables us to confirm a specific diagnosis and determine whether a procedure is appropriate and, if so, which one.

Your care may include: 

• Cystometric test: We assess aspects of bladder function, such as how much fluid the bladder holds and how well its muscles tighten (contract) to release urine. 
• Electromyography (EMG): Sensors capture nerve impulses to determine whether pelvic floor muscles are working as expected. 
• Post-void residual urine volume: This test measures how much urine is left in your bladder after urinating.
• Uroflowmetry: This test measures the volume of urine in your bladder and how quickly it leaves the body (flow rate).
• Video urodynamic study: We capture real-time images of your bladder while filling it with a saline solution and as you eliminate the solution by urinating.
