Make a Difference: Join a Patient Family Advisory Council!

Do you want to help improve the patient experience at our hospitals?

We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Patient Family Advisory Councils (PFAC). As a member, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with other patients, family members, and the hospital teams to identify and address areas for improvement in our services and care.

What is a Patient Family Advisory Council?

A PFAC is a group of patients, family members, and hospital staff who work together to:

  • Share experiences and perspectives: Provide valuable insights into the patient and family experience.
  • Identify areas for improvement: Help us understand what we're doing well and where we can do better.
  • Collaborate on solutions: Work with the team to develop and implement strategies to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Advocate for patients and families: Ensure that the patient and family voice is heard in decision-making processes.

What are the responsibilities of a PFAC member?

  • Attend bi-monthly meetings (held both in-person and via Google Meet).
  • Actively participate in discussions and share your experiences and perspectives.
  • Work collaboratively with other members and the hospital team.
  • Review and provide feedback on hospital policies, programs, and initiatives.
  • Commit to attending at least one meeting per quarter.

Why join a PFAC?

  • Make a real difference: Your voice will help shape the future of patient care.
  • Give back to the community: Contribute your time and expertise to improve the healthcare experience for others.
  • Connect with others: Meet and collaborate with other patients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
  • Learn and grow: Gain a deeper understanding of the healthcare system and develop valuable skills.

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Have been a patient or family member of a patient at one of our hospitals within the past three years.
  • Are passionate about improving the patient experience.
  • Are interested in working collaboratively with other patients, family members, and the hospital team.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are committed to attending meetings and actively participating in council activities for one full year minimum.
