Starting Jan. 30, 2026, Medicare may no longer cover video visits for most routine medical care, including virtual urgent care. If you currently use telehealth video visits, this change could affect how your care is billed and what services are covered.
We know this may be confusing, and we want to help you understand your options. Here are a few things you can do:
For the latest information, visit the official Medicare Telehealth Information page.
Check your Medicare benefits for the most up-to-date coverage information.
Explore in-person visit options at our clinics if video visits are no longer covered.
If you have questions, we make available MedicareOnDemand, our recommended Medicare resource serviced by MedicareCompareUSA, a licensed independent insurance agency. You can reach MedicareCompareUSA toll-free at 866-491-3860, TTY 711 (Monday–Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Will all telehealth visits stop?
No. Some types of telehealth services may still be covered, but most routine or general care video visits may no longer be paid for by Medicare.
Does this affect virtual urgent care or specialty visits?
Coverage may vary by type of care. Virtual urgent care video visits will no longer be covered by Medicare. For the latest information, please visit the official Medicare Telehealth Information page.
What if I already have a video visit scheduled for after Jan. 30, 2026?
Appointments scheduled to take place after Jan. 30, 2026, may not be covered by Medicare. Please consider making an in-person appointment with your provider to address your health care needs.
