COVID-19

Coronavirus (COVID-19) information

If you or a loved one have any symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your regular provider, schedule a virtual urgent care visit, or visit one of our Urgent or Walk-in Care clinics to be screened.

Seek emergency medical treatment immediately by calling 911 or going to the nearest emergency department if you or a loved one have any of these symptoms: trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, inability to wake or stay awake, bluish lips or face.

COVID-19 visitor and companion information

With changing COVID-19 transmission rates in the community, visitation and clinic companion guidelines may be affected. Please review the Visitation Guidelines before your arrival to one of our Virginia Mason locations.

Virtual Clinic Visits – See your primary care or specialty care provider from your home

  • Whether you are a new patient or you need to see your regular physician or provider for a medical issue, you can do so from the comfort of your home.
  • When you call for any non-urgent appointment, ask if the clinic offers Zoom and if your appointment is appropriate for a virtual visit. You can download Zoom here. Clinic staff will explain how to access Zoom from either your mobile device or desktop computer, and will give you the Zoom ID to use. You do not have to create a Zoom account to use this service.
  • All aspects and quality of the visit are similar to an in-person visit, including cost and copays, if required. Most payers cover virtual visits.
  • Rest assured we never record virtual visits, and they are encrypted to ensure patient privacy.
  • To learn more about the process, watch our Virtual Visits video.
  • Virtual care for Virginia Mason Medical Center patients
    • If you are a patient at Virginia Mason Medical Center and use MyVirginiaMason, you can schedule a virtual care appointment by calling 206-223-6881 or by logging into your MyVirginiaMason account.

What to do if you have symptoms

If you or a loved one have a fever, cough or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19 or were exposed to someone with COVID-19, we recommend that you schedule a Virginia Mason Franciscan Health virtual urgent care visit today, visit one of our Prompt Care or Urgent Care Clinics, or contact your Primary Care Provider to be assessed for COVID-19.

We no longer provide COVID testing for asymptomatic patients who require COVID testing for travel or work at our Prompt and Urgent Care locations. Those patients will be referred to their primary care provider or their local community COVID testing sites (including Walgreens and CVS). This is due to increasing volumes of symptomatic and sometimes very sick respiratory patients at our prompt and urgent care clinics.

COVID-19 testing is available at most of our primary and specialty care clinics by appointment. Please call ahead for more details.
