Valerie Gish

Valerie Gish, RN, BSN

Regional Manager for Transfusion-free Medicine and Surgery

Valerie joined the Transfusion-free Medicine & Surgery Program in 2015. Valerie graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in nursing. For twenty years she was part of the Emergency Department staff at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital holding various nursing positions. She joined the Trauma Service in 2002 as the trauma case manager assisting patients with catastrophic injuries to integrate back into the community. In 2010 she accepted the Trauma Educator/Outreach Coordinator position providing education and community outreach. Valerie is thrilled to join the Transfusion Free program as an advocate for alternatives to blood transfusions.

Sandy Brown

Sandy Brown, RN

Sandy is an experienced nurse with a lifelong interest in helping people. She continues to develop her sincere interest in promoting emerging medical strategies in the realm of Transfusion-Free Medicine, passionately advocating for individuals who prefer to avoid or refuse the use of blood products in their medical care.

She is inspired by the many wonders of creation — not the least of which is how wonderfully made we are. She enjoys pursuing diverse interests, such as arts and crafts, photography, reading, volunteer work and generally enjoying the outdoors.

Jennifer Min

Jennifer Min, RN

Having worked as an oncology nurse navigator and a general surgery nurse, Jennifer feels privileged to work with patients who feel that their well-being involves the mind, body and spirit and embrace the availability of the program to be able to make informed choices and feel supported as they receive this care. As a certified Korean medical interpreter, Jennifer is also able to help those with language/cultural barriers in understanding their treatment options.

Jennifer was born in South Korea and came to the United States at age 10. She has always been in awe of the workings of the human body and the exciting new findings in the effectiveness of transfusion-free medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys Asian cooking, traveling, hiking, snow shoeing, spending time with nieces and nephews and learning about new languages/cultures.
