Internationally recognized treatment for liver, pancreatic and biliary disease

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is internationally recognized, and our specialists are dedicated to progressive and innovative management of liver, pancreatic and biliary disorders.

We are engaged in clinical trials, and our team can review your options for investigational drugs and novel therapies.

Breakthrough technology in diagnostics and treatment

Our center was the first in the Pacific Northwest to offer the noninvasive FibroScan® technology to evaluate disease stage in people diagnosed with liver conditions. We also utilize MR- and ultrasound-based elastography. Having access to state-of-the art liver diagnostics makes it possible to share the exact staging of liver disease on the same day as your test, and we are often able to avoid an invasive liver biopsy. This is just one example of the benefits of receiving care from a highly specialized liver disease program with personalized care and exemplary outcomes.

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health gastroenterologists have achieved national and international acclaim for treatment of disorders affecting the biliary and pancreas tract. Each year, our gastroenterologists perform more than 2,000 standard endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, or ERCP, procedures to diagnose pancreaticobiliary disorders, far more than any medical center in Washington state.
