A recent grant from OB Hospitalist Group (OBHG) will fund an educational program for perinatal nurses at St. Michael Medical Center. The program benefits include helping orient new nurses, delivering advanced education to senior staff, ensuring that every nurse provides evidenced-based care and practices and establishing consistent care across the unit.
The Dr. Maurice S. Mathis Guild Rooftop Rehab Trail — completely supported by donors — is just one of the ways the Orthopaedic Center at St. Michael Medical Center is exceeding current standards of care. Harrison staff work with patients in the proper use of equipment such as walkers, crutches and canes to help stabilize them during the recovery period. In the past, we have not had a place to support our patients through the challenges associated with navigating the outdoors.
Four patient rooms have been refurbished with soothing touches and special amenities to create a space of calm for patients with special needs.
Support from St. Michael Medical Auxiliary (proceeds from in-hospital gift shops) helped to construct the helipad on the hospital campus — aiding the safety and efficiency of airlift transfers.
