Funding Requests
As part of our mission to create healthier communities, we support the charitable efforts of local organizations through sponsorships and program funding. Mission-based initiatives and Community Health Improvement Grants are generally used to fund projects that address VMFH’s commmunity health priorities. Corporate sponsorships are generally for events that support local nonprofit organizations who align with our mission. Please explore these options in more detail below.

VMFH provides small grants of up to $5,000 to local nonprofits with projects that align with our community health priorities. These grants are given on a rolling basis, but funding decisions can take up to 8 weeks from submission.
Mission-Based Initiative Grant guidelines are below.
- The applicant must be a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
- Funding must be used for a specific project that aligns with VMFH community health priorities. We do not provide unrestricted general operating support.
- The project must serve residents in the Puget Sound region.
- VMFH cannot provide funding for lobbying or capital campaigns.

The Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) Community Health Improvement Grants program is funded by contributions from our 8 hospitals around Puget Sound. In awarding community grants, VMFH actively partners with nonprofit organizations working to improve health status and quality of life in the communities we serve.
Community Health Improvement Grants can be anywhere from $20,000-$100,000. Grants must have 2 or more collaborative partners, align with VMFH community health priorities, and seek to reduce identified health disparities. The program is one way VMFH puts its mission and values into practice.

VMFH is proud to support non-profit organizations through event sponsorships. We are committed to supporting opportunities that align with our mission, engage the community and support the overall health and well-being of the communities we serve.
The sponsorship process is outlined below.
- All sponsorships must be requested using the online application form.
- All corporate sponsorship requests must be submitted within the appropriate application period.
- All requests will be considered after the application period is closed.
- All applicants will receive email communication regarding the outcome of the application.
